1st Day Chromebook Distribution Success

WOW! We are so excited about our first Chromebook distribution day. Thank you to over 550+ students and parents for coming out today to receive your Chromebooks! We hope it was a fast, easy, and exciting process for you. We are thrilled about all the positive response and feedback about our mobile learning initiative. If you missed out today, our next 2 scheduled distribution dates are Monday (Sept 9) and Tuesday (Sept 10) from 4PM until 6PM. Hope to see you then!

Saturday, September 7 from 8AM until 2PM 
Monday, September 9 from 4PM until 6PM

• *Yearly Use (This fee is due before receiving Chromebook) ($25)
• *1st Occurrence of Broken Screen ($25)
• *2nd or more occurrences of Broken Screen ($50)
• *Intentional Keyboard Damage ($50)
• *Liquid Damage/Theft/Loss (1st Time) ($100)
• *Liquid Damage/Theft/Loss (2+) ($249)
• *Cleaning and Sticker Removal ($25)

  
The yearly use fee is considered insurance.  

All other fees are on a per incident basis similar to a deductible.

Back to School Letter-Chromebooks are coming

Dear MHS Parents and Students,

We hope you are enjoying your summer.  At McDowell High School, we are busy planning to Implement one-to-one (1:1) computing with Chromebooks this year. The focus of providing Chromebooks at McDowell High School is to provide current tools and resources for our 21st century learners.  Funding for the Chromebooks is provided by the Golden Leaf Foundation, McDowell County, and the McDowell County Board of Education. 

Shortly after school begins in August, parents will be invited to a required orientation and distribution meeting.  At this meeting, students will be issued a Chromebook and a backpack.  McDowell High School students do not need to purchase a backpack for the 2013-2014 school year.

Coming SOON! Titans 1:1 Chromebooks

MHS Titans are you ready for what's coming soon? Beginning in the Fall of 2013, every 10th through 12th grade student and teacher will receive a Chromebook.  More details about distribution and other information will be released in a few weeks.
